India Sends 503-Athlete Contingent to Asian Games 2026

The Sports Ministry has officially approved a contingent of 503 athletes to represent India at the 2026 Asian Games. Scheduled to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, the final list shows an increase from the 492 athletes initially approved. Including the 246 officials accompanying the team, the full delegation will number 768 people. These athletes are set to compete across 36 different disciplines, including surfing, which joins the roster as India continues to broaden its competitive reach.

As a multi-sport event held every four years, the Asian Games provide a major stage for talent from across the continent.
