Uddeshya Sachan Establishes Free School for Over 150 Slum Children

Uddeshya Sachan, a dedicated educator from Kanpur, has made significant strides in providing education to underserved communities through his initiative, Gurukulam — Khushiyon Wala School. Founded in 2019, the school began with just five children and has since expanded to serve over 150 children from slums and underserved areas. Uddeshya's own experiences of being expelled from school at age 12 due to financial constraints motivated him to create a space where children can learn without the burden of fees. His journey reflects a deep commitment to ensuring that children have access to quality education and life skills.

The inception of Gurukulam was driven by Uddeshya's desire to address the gaps he faced in his early education. After overcoming his own challenges, he graduated from college and felt compelled to give back to the community.
